California Condor

The California condor, North America's largest raptor, is often called a “janitor” of nature due to how completely it cleans on the carcasses of dead animals.
Because of its feeding habits, the species had been hunted down as a bird of ill omen and currently suffers danger of extinction. The species is classified as “CRITICALLY ENDANGERED” in the Red List.
